Reopen a closed tab in FireFox

If you ever accidently close a tab in FireFox you weren't meaning too, you can right-click on either one of the other tabs - or the space after them - and select Undo Close Tab.

You can also go to History > Recently Closed Tabs to see the list, or open every tab that you have closed in this session.

You don't need the web address

Rather than using web addresses, if you type in a phrase into the URL line in Firefox (and Google is set as your default search engine) you will get taken straight to the site of the first result. It's the same as pressing the I Feel Lucky button.

Since Google is pretty accurate, you will normally find that you will get to where you want - without having to type in the full address.

For example,

type "Google" to go to www.google.com
type "Ebay" to go to www.ebay.com
type "BBC" to go to www.bbc.co.uk

Highlight a word or sentence

If you double-click on a word in a web browser, it will highlight itself.

If you triple-click on a word in Internet Explorer, the paragraph will be highlighted. Doing the same in Firefox will only highlight the same line of text.

This is handy if you are copying and pasting.
