Open "My Computer" in Explorer

When you click on My Computer in Windows XP, it normally just opens in standard folder view, with no easy way to navigate to different folders on your hard disc.

To set My Computer to open in Explorer (and get the tree of folders at the side)....

Open My Computer from the Desktop. Click on the Tools menu, and then chose Folder Options.

Click on the File Types tab. Look for (NONE) Folders in the list of file types, and highlight it.

Click the Advanced button below. Highlight Explore and click Set Default.
