Same folder view throughout Windows XP

There are various ways you can display folders/icons in Windows XP - from tiles, to thumbnails to full file details.

You probably have a favourite way of viewing these, so get annoyed by having to change them every time you open a new window.

To set your favourite as the default...

1) Open My Documents from the Desktop
2) Choose your favourite view from the Views Icon drop down menu (should be the icon to the far-right... has a little picture of an explorer window) Your My Documents folder should now look how you want all folders to look
3) Go to Tools > Folder Options...
4) Select the View tab
5) Click the Apply to All Folders button
6) Say OK when asked if you want to set this as the default
