How to Gain Weight

Although 95% of the population unhappy with their weight want to lose pounds, there are many people who want to put on weight.

Normally, these are slim (skinny) guys who are tired off looking too thin. To put on weight, there are a couple of things you need to do...

Firstly, eat more. You have to eat 500 more calories than you are used to every day. This is usually an extra meal. Don't eat donuts and the like - that is the wrong type of food, and your body just wastes energy dealing with it. Eat high protein foods.

Secondly, exercise more. This may sound counter-intuitive. People go to the Gym to lose weight. People that sit around in the house tend to gain weight. The problem is, the second way only gains you fat. You want to gain muscle weight - not fat weight.

When going to the gym, spend a few minutes on cardiovascular exercises (like the treadmill), but most time on the weights. Lift heavy weights, only doing a few reps (you should only be able to lift them about 8 times)
